I recently embarked on a beautiful journey into the world of willow basket making with My Own2hands, a course that was a sacred invitation to understanting the weaving world in a new way.

Despite this being my very first online course, I found myself entirely enjoying the experience, being utterly immersed in each video lesson.

What made it particularly engaging was the ability to be, both immersed in my own landscapes at home, gathering inspiration from the natural surroundings as I learned to weave. With guided instruction and a deep connection to my environment, it made the learning process deeply satisfying.

The experience of working with the willow, with my hands and heart was incredibly grounding. Each twist and turn of the willow brought the basket slowly to life. The process of this traditional craft gave me much patience. There's a profound sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something functional and beautiful, entirely from Mother nature.

This very basket has become a daily companion within my Forest School sessions. It carries treasures found, tools for working with my hand and heart, and the spirit of craftsmanship through the woods with me.

Every time I use it, I am filled with a quiet pride, knowing that I made it with my own two hands. It's more than just a basket. It is a symbol of the connection between my hands, the natural world, and the wildlings I teach in the woods.
